September 15, 2021

Dear Members, Visitors, and Friends of the Congregation,

Before all else, I want to thank you for your continued support of Christ Our Hope! In spite of Covid and what has been a time in which much has been turned on end, the congregation remains in good shape financially and between in-person worship, live-streaming, and videos, we are reaching more people than before Covid struck. And so, thank you!

We are very aware, of course, of the increase in the number of cases of the virus, but we are not making any changes to our schedule at this time. We will certainly do so the minute we believe we can no longer safely gather.

The attached prayer, which I will pray during our ZOOM worship time tonight, September 15, at 7:00 PM, reflects on what happens during and following a crisis. By this point, you’ve probably figured out that most of my Wednesday prayers are not exactly “close-your-eyes-and-pray-prayers” but prayers that are “keep-your-eyes-open-and-read-prayers” meant to help you get started on your prayers or on having a little talk with God, which is pretty much the same thing. At any rate, after a year and a half of these prayers, I hope they still speak to you in some way.

May God continue to grace us with the faith and courage to be full-time Christians in a culture in which part-time Christians and no-time Christians are growing in number.
