Mission and Vision

Christ Our Hope is a racially diverse congregation whose vision is to be a place where all are welcome to grow in their love for God and for others.  Many of our members come from non-Lutheran backgrounds.  We have a number of children and youth as well as a strong, active group of retired individuals.  Our membership includes families, couples, single individuals, single parents and young adults.  Come join our family!
Caring for members and serving in the community are very important to us.  Enjoying friendship among members, helping each other through difficult times, and being there for each other has been at the heart of our congregation since its beginning.  We are also very committed to serving community needs.  We contribute to many community agencies, serve at the downtown soup kitchen, and support a local center that helps struggling families get back on their feet.  In addition, we have assisted two refugee families resettle in the community and have built a Habitat for Humanity house.

Building up people in hope and joy in Christ is what we are about.  Our purpose is to be a welcoming, caring congregation in which people experience the love of God and are led to serve others in love.  In the Lutheran tradition, we emphasize worship and education as central to accomplishing our purpose.
