Dear Member,

This past Sunday we resumed our worship services with 40 adults and children in attendance. I realize that a number of you are not yet comfortable in coming out and that is very understandable in light of the latest figures concerning the number of new coronavirus cases. But I hope the video we did will help you feel a part of the service. We are keeping a close eye on the latest figures and will evaluate weekly whether or not we can continue to gather for worship. As of today, we do plan on going ahead with this Sunday’s service.

Concerning Wednesday Evening Communion and Bible Study on Thursdays we are going to hold off resuming those. The issue is not only safely but also the number of times we would have to re-sanitize the church during the week (we only have a few volunteers willing to do the re-sanitizing). We will continue our Wednesday conference calls and if you would like to participate tonight, June 17, at 7:00 PM, just check Pastor Flanigan’s email for the number and access code.

As you know, we have not published a Scribe these past few months since there are no activities to announce! Instead, we have been relying on these emails to alert you to what is happening. Reminders, along with the Prayer List and Birthday List, are sent by mail to those who do not have email. Also, my Wednesday prayers pretty much say what I would say in any Scribe article.

Speaking of those prayers, below is the prayer I will pray during our call tonight. It is meant to reflect what many, perhaps, have come to feel after going through what we have been going through for a good while now and speak to why it is nothing seems to change, nothing much is done. As has been the case of late, it’s a mixture of things: a psalm, a prayer, and something else I don’t know what.

May you find peace in God’s love and presence amidst the turmoil of those days,

Pastor Halenza
