Jeffrey M. Halenza, Pastor

December 1, 2021

Dear Members, Visitors, and Friends of the Congregation,

As you may be aware, since last week I have been fighting a rather serious bronchial infection that made breathing extremely difficult and left me exhausted. I am on the mend, however, and plan on doing the service this Sunday. I certainly want to thank Pastor Flanigan for doing a great job filling in at the last minute (the “last minute” being 7:30 that morning when I called to tell him I just couldn’t make it). But I’m not the only one, for sure, as a number of our members have been hit with the flu. I pray that we can get through the season with a minimum of illness and that we all continue to be safe and take good care.

And now, once again, some announcements:

On Sunday, December 12, following worship, we will have a Congregational Meeting to act on a budget for 2022

A Christmas Get-Together is planned for Sunday, December 19, following worship, to give us the opportunity to                                     talk with one another and catch up a bit. Christmas cookies and refreshments will be served.

Our Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service of Rejoicing will be held at 5:00 PM, with a special prelude                                          beginning at 4:30 PM

I hope you will be able to be a part of these gatherings.

The attached prayer, which will be prayed during our ZOOM worship time tonight, December 1, at 7:00 PM, began with thoughts that started to rattle around in my head the minute I heard a promo for a new television series. I couldn’t stop them rattling so I wrote them out as a prayer just in case it was the Spirit doing the rattling to get my attention. At any rate, I hope it might be a prayer that you can somehow put to use.

May God grace us and this land and earth with peace and goodwill and great hope,

Pastor Halenza
