Dear Member,

I’m counting the days, counting the days until we resume worship services on June 14th! We will be taking a very cautious approach and will soon send out an email outlining the protocols we will follow to insure a safe gathering. We also plan to resume Wednesday Evening Communion services on June 17th at 6:30 PM and Bible Study classes on Thursday, June 18th, at 10:00 AM. We are delaying the start of Adult Sunday School until we see how we do with worship. We will, of course, be monitoring the number of cases of the coronavirus in the area and will revise our plans if there is a change for the worse.

I realize that watching a video is not the same as seeing one another face to face and worshipping together, but I continue to hope that the videos are helping you stay connected to the congregation and give you a sense of worshipping. Concerning announcements…

         • We will provide food for Calvary Refuge on Thursday, June 25. Before purchasing any items, please contact Carol Meyer (770-461-3448) to see what is needed so that we avoid duplications.

         • The need for food continues to increase at Fayette Samaritans and we urge you to donate items, if you are able. Items needed are as follows: canned chicken, dried beans, corn, green beans, mixed vegetables, canned fruit, canned pasta, cereal, Jiffy cornbread mix, and feminine products. They are not accepting clothing at this time.

Regarding our people…

I’m happy to be able to say, once again, that no member of the congregation has contracted the coronavirus.

Michelle Bryant was hospitalized briefly this past week for a TIA and possible stroke.

May God grant us the courage to keep doing the right thing, even in the face of ridicule, and act for the well-being of others, as well as ourselves,

Pastor Halenza
