Dear Members and Visitors,

As some of you may know, Kitty and I were not in church this past Sunday because there was a good possibility that we had been exposed to the coronavirus early in the week (after last Sunday’s service ) and thus we didn’t want to run the risk of exposing any of you. The good news is that all who were tested are fine and we are as well. Barring any new development, our plan is to be back this coming Sunday. I understand that Pastor Flanigan and Ken Foster did a great job and I thank them big time for covering for me!

Concerning this coming Sunday’s service, we are going ahead with it. We may have to change our plans, however, if we determine it’s not safe given the increase in the number of new cases. We’ll alert you immediately if there is a change. Other activities and classes remain on hold for now.

Below is the prayer I will pray during our conference call tonight, July 8th, at 7:00 PM. In the opening lines of the prayer, I say, “perhaps more than a few of us” rather than simply “we” because I never want to presume that I know what you are thinking and feeling and that it is the same as what I am thinking and feeling. As far as I know, I may be the only one thinking and feeling what the prayer expresses and if that’s the case, saying “we” would be the height of presumption. I do hope, however, that you can find yourself somewhere in the prayer and that it speaks to or for you in some way.

May the Spirit refresh you and build you up in hope and sustain you throughout these days,

Pastor Halenza
