Jeffrey M. Halenza, Pastor

July 29, 2020

Dear Members, Visitors, and Friends of the Congregation,

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Below is the prayer I will pray during our Conference Call tonight, July 29, at 7:00 PM. (Pastor Flaniganā€™s email includes the phone number or link you will need, along with the access code.)

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Tonightā€™s prayer is another ā€œtalking prayer.ā€ Well, kind of. I mean, Iā€™m not only talking to God in the prayer but to you as well, describing a place where salvation comes and encouraging you to find such a place if you donā€™t already have one. Some portions of the prayer, however, are more traditional. So, itā€™s both a prayer you canā€™t pray as your own and a prayer you can pray as your own. Since Iā€™m never quite sure what my prayers are, except words that come to me and, as I scribble them down and move them around, become prayers I must pray once they have taken on final form (Iā€™ll explain that ā€œmustā€ business some other time), so the best thing to do is to read the prayer as I pray it and see where it takes you or just read it on your own and see what comes.

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Concerning Sunday worship, our plan is to resume services on Sunday, August 9th. It will depend, of course, on the number of daily coronavirus cases decreasing to the point where we believe it safe to gather. Other activities and classes will remain on hold.

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  May God, who is our hope and our salvation, grace us with the faith and strength we need to live these days with calm and confidence,

Pastor HalenzaĀ
